Let’s be honest, there’s no manual for having a baby; especially when it comes to which products you should be using for them. No book or manual that tells you what products are safest for your baby; We’re talking about making decisions for the most important little humans in your life, am I right?!
The endless amounts of products on shelves these days isn’t helpful for a new mom either – I mean, how many different brands and/or types of shampoos, diapers, wipes, and even food can you count nowadays. The options are endless! While this could be a good thing, it could also be very overwhelming.
I’m those type of people that like to research everythingggg – I mean it, everything, especially when it comes to products that I would be using for my precious little boy. Once I found out I was pregnant, I decided I was going to make a conscious change towards my family and promised to only use products I felt comfortable with. Products that I felt were safe enough for my entire family, especially for my new babe.
I have been excited to write this post because these are products I swear by – they are products I have done a lot of research about, and they’re products I seriously love!
I have been using most of these products for about a year now and therefore have confidence in recommending them to others – I have seen them work and know they are safe!
You’ll notice most of the products I list below are organic and or natural – free of any toxic chemicals.
Babo Botanicals Oatmilk Calendula Moisturizing Baby Lotion
I started with this product as my first recommendation because I LOVE it. We live in the state of Michigan where half of the year is cold and dry. What does that have to do with this product? Well, cold weather usually accompanies dry skin – and that’s where you’ll need a good moisturizer.
My baby’s skin is no different – once the colder weather began, his skin started becoming drier and drier. When I was looking for a good moisturizer, I had two things I was looking for- one that actually moisturizes without using any harsh chemicals- and guess what, I found it; this is the ideal moisturizer. Not only does it smell amazingggg but it moisturizes good as well. My baby’s skin feels so buttery after I apply this on his body and face.
The bonus part is its made out of good ingredients, it’s nongreasy, and it rubs in the skin so easily! We bought this moisturizer for my baby boy, but then I found out my husband was secretly using it on his skin because he loved it so much. Then, I tried it on my face and fell in love with it all over again. Now our whole family uses it – if that’s not true love, I don’t know what is!
Babo Botanicals Moisturizing Baby Shampoo and Wash Oatmilk Calendula
This is a baby shampoo and washes that works really well; it smells amazing too! I think you can tell by now that my family loves Babo Botanical products. This shampoo was the first product that we bought from their line and we haven’t used any other shampoo on my baby since.
It works well for both my baby’s hair and is a good wash for his body! I’m always asked how my baby smells so good when others hold him – its a combination of both his shampoo and moisturizer! We’ve also tried the Babo Botanicals Moisturizing Baby Bubble Bath & Wash and recommend it as well if you’re looking for a little bit of bubble in the bathtub!

Bambo Nature Premium Baby Diapers
I was contemplating making this product number one on my list because it is by far one of my favorite baby products I’ve ever used for my son. I’ve been using these diapers for about a year now and they are literally perfect – I have zero complaints about them.
When I was looking for a diaper brand for my baby, I wanted to make sure it was free of any toxic chemicals since it would be in contact with his body 24/7 during the first few years of his life. These diapers are eco-friendly, safe and offer supernatural performance! They’re also free of harmful chemicals and all known allergens – which was very important to me.
I’ve also put these diapers to the test! On occasion, my baby has slept 12 hours straight without a diaper change and guess what?! He never leaked once! He has never leaked during the day wearing them either – they are super absorbent and breathable. I’m so glad I’ve found this brand.

WaterWipes Baby Wipes
I don’t use wipes too often – I mainly use them for when I’m out of the house. While I’m at home, I usually wash him with soap and water after every diaper change. However, when I do need wipes, these come in handy.
They are made for sensitive skin and they are NEA Certified; they don’t have any harsh chemicals or preservatives. I’ve also found that they’ve never dried out even when I’ve reached the very last sheet. They clean very well and get the job done perfectly!
HEVEA Panda Teether
If you have a teething baby at home (my baby started showing signs of teething at 3 months) then I recommend owning this panda teether. It is made of natural rubber and helps soothe and massage my baby’s irritated gums.
My baby enjoyed holding onto this teether and gnawing on it for hours at a time. It has a smooth surface on one side and a surface with ridges on the other. Since its made of natural rubber, it is free from phthalates, colors, PVC and EVAtane, silicone and BPA – just what I like to hear!
Green Shield Organic Laundry Detergent & GreenShield Organic Organic All Purpose Cleaner
I’ve grouped these two items together since they’re both by the same brand and since they’re both cleaning products. Once again, when I was searching for a laundry detergent brand, I wanted to make sure it didn’t have any harsh scents that would irritate my baby’s senses, especially when he was newborn.
I also wanted to make sure the cleaning solution wasn’t harsh on his skin once he wore his clothes. I tried two brands before this one and didn’t feel they cleaned well enough – they also had a lavender scent which I disliked. However, this laundry detergent cleans well, doesn’t have a scent, is organic, and has ingredients that come from sustainable resources. It is also Phosphate and petrochemical free. This is a product I will continue to buy as he grows.
This brand’s all-purpose cleaner is an amazing product as well. I usually use it to clean his bathtub after every bath. It cleans well and has a nice lemony scent to it. I’ve purchased several bottles of this cleaner and love how well it cleans all while being safe to use around my baby and family.
CleanSmart Toy Disinfectant Spray
I like to disinfect my baby’s toys from time to time and this product gets the job done! I make sure to disinfect anything that goes in his mouth (which is almost everything he can lay his little hands on!) with this spray.
It has no harmful chemicals and it leaves no chemical residue. Even, It also has no added fragrance or preservatives. It is such a good product to have at hand!
Hair Gel for Kids by little Roseberry
If anyone has seen my baby’s hair, you’ll know he needs some sort of product to tame his beautiful locks! He has beautiful curly hair – however, his hair can get frizzy way too quick!
I don’t usually put anything on his hair unless he has an important event to attend. When I booked his first passport pictures shoot I started looking for a product. I wanted him to look, well, put together. I ordered this gel off of Amazon and used it for his pictures. No one could believe it was him – he looked like a little gentleman at the age of 8 months!
I fell in love with this stuff! The bonus part? This gel is made with Organic Aloe Vera Juice and Witch Hazel to promote hair wellbeing and is 100% Toxin-free (No parabens, Sulfates). How amazing is that?! Now I don’t feel bad when I have to put this stuff on his hair from time to time – and we get to enjoy my baby’s new look every time!
Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowl, Munchkin Soft-Tip Infant Spoon, Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup
I’ve grouped these three products because they all have to do with baby’s first introduction to solids and are by the same brand. My baby was exclusively breastfed until the age of 6 months, this is when I purchased these items for him. I’ll start off with the Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls – these work very well.
They come in three different sizes and have suction at the bottom so that baby can’t throw the food over (and trust me, they will try!). My baby is a year old and I still use these bowls for when I’m feeding him his meals. Since baby’s gums are sensitive at such a young age, I also recommend purchasing the Munchkin Soft-Tip Infant Spoon. They come in a variety of colors and are gentle on baby’s gums. These two products are also BPA free and dishwasher safe which is a plus.
The Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup is one of my favorite purchases I’ve made to date. My baby loves this cup! He’s been using it since he was 6 months old to drink his water and from time to time – his breast milk! He learned to use it very fast and doesn’t drink out of any other cup until this day. The cup has a 360-degree drinking edge which eliminates spills completely. It is also BPA free and dishwasher safe – score!
The Big Book of Organic Baby Food & OMorc Ice Cube Trays
My last two items are also grouped because they both relate to the preparation of my baby’s solid foods. I have been making all my baby’s food since he started eating a few months ago. I make his food because it gives me full control in choosing what I put in it – it allows me to use organic fruits and vegetables and choose which combinations to put together.
Since I’m a new mom (and far from being a chef), I didn’t know what foods went well together – I did want his food to taste good and wanted him to enjoy it! I purchased The Big Book of Organic Baby Food to help me learn what foods to combine together. It has tons of delicious recipes in it for babies at every age and stage, tons of advice, and stunning photos! I’d highly recommend this to any mama that has a baby starting to eat solids.
I usually spent one afternoon preparing for my baby’s food for the rest of the week. I’d prepare a large batch of pureed fruits and veggies and store them in the freezer. Every time it was time to feed my baby, I would pop them out of the freezer and thaw them.
His meal was usually ready in about 20 minutes! I needed to find an item that I could freeze his food in and that would easily allow me to remove them when need be. This is where the OMorc Ice Cube Trays came in handy! These trays aren’t made specifically for baby food – but I used them for that purpose and they worked great!
Conclusion
After being a new mama for about a year now, these products have made my top 10 list. I’m glad I’ve found and used these products and brands – they have made all the difference in my first year! I feel comfortable and happy to have used these products for my baby and believe having safer product options is helpful!
